Star Mage Animated Series in Development
An animated adaption of the comic series Star Mage is currently in development with Transmissions From Atlantis Entertainment.
The series is based on the comic mini-series published by IDW Comics in 2014 and created by JC De La Torre. IDW currently owns the comic publishing rights to the first series. We own all other rights to the series, the ability to turn it into a tv series or movie, and all merchandising.
In the original comic series, Darien was a 14-year old boy who discovers he is the key to an ancient battle between alien magical races. Whisked away to a new, strange world, Darien meets new friends and faces his evil older brother Orasmas in a battle to save the galaxy.
JC and Rita De La Torre have written this new series, taking up four years after Darien’s defeat of the evil Orasmas. Eridu encounters a new threat while assisting some new allies, the Medeltidens. Spanning across the galaxy and all the way back home on Earth, Darien must figure out a way to defeat the new enemy, handle his growing feelings for Tirwa, and deal with the betrayal of one of his closest friends.
Other facts about this project:
- Scripts for ten 20-25 minute in length episodes are completed.
- There are 38 speaking roles in this season (auditions are ongoing and casting announcements will be forthcoming).
- Character models for the major characters have been completed.
- Animation and Production will use Unreal Engine as the animation source, along with other products from Reallusion, Daz3d.
- This will be a streaming release but currently an independent production. A final streaming home will be announced at a later date.
